sociograms group structures very simple questions and asked all the
inds the same question.
social network analysis may choose a social network
social network analysis is a set of procedures studying the relational
structures of groups mathematically and graphically
highly cohesive groups contain substantial proportions of reciprocity and
very few isolated members
KNOW the slide for sociometric structures KNOW each one (slide 35)
1. Stars (popular) well liked, picked by many inds at the question “who d
you like to work with?
2. unpopular rejected not picked by many people
3. Isolates more independent and not segmented by many people
4. pairs 2 members who like each other and have reciprocal bonds
5. clusters subgroups how small groups emerge and get bigger through
all these different connections
sociograms on slide 36
do not need to know images but know the structures.
SHOULD ALWAYS ASK THE SAME QUESTION ACROSS ALL INDS
DISADVANTAGE OF SELF REPORT TEST: (slide 38)
- ARE HELPFUL - and can collect al ot of info in short period of time
- can consume a lot of meaning full data

the assessment u would give an extra. Like I want to look good in eyes of
others. Overpositive inflammation of yourself

- someone would fake bad or fake impression
- therapy or lawyer, they may not represent myself and if I lower myself and

responsibility
- some who like to have a lower responsibility lower bar for starting point
for people. Due to the expectations that come with it

THE NEED TO BELONG:
1. Baumeister and Leary
it's a need to connect
all humans have a pervasive drive and maintain a long lasting positive
and connections with people
biologically, socially and cognitively affects you
how is the development from an only child in comparison
evolutionary paradigm or perspective groups early on for describing
groups. Groups are very helpful for adaptation and basic needs.
need people to be safe, needed inds to be able to get your food and water.
You needed others - to connect + reproduce. Groups were able to fulfill your
basic needs. Most basic needs are still taken care by groups.
people often make decisions for us like grocery stories. Still is true
today in regards to your drives and motives. Our groups impact us at a
higher group and level
Baumeister and Leary - believe that groups are such of importance - that
without it people are rendered and incapacitated
many times you do not know what you would do exactly see someone
positively or negatively do something. WE are not just born of infinite
amount of wisdom without any capacity of help. People cannot go up without
others.
DAnny story and over the window
hierarchy of needs:
- need to know him Abraham Maslow
- motivational model must know him for exam
- theoretical model is more about humanistic
- was known for hierarchy of needs
- he ranked and ordered for the lowest order needs to the highest order
needs.
NEED TO KNOW his 5 STAGE model
- one stage to the other.
Cannot go from one model to the other
