More than half of north american women over the age of 16 are currently employed. The amount of education a women has had is one of the best predictors of whether she works outside the home. Asian immigrants who come to canada are more likely than other canadian residents to have some university experience. Current welfare legislation forces women to take low-paying jobs rather than receive training for high paying jobs. Tanf: funding aren"t adequate, and families in the tanf program will be poor, even if they find a job. Most participants of the program still live below the poverty line. Access discrimination: is offering women applicants less attractive positions. People with strong stereotypes about gender roles are more likely to demonstrate access discrimination. A women will experience access discrimination if it is unclear whether you are well qualified. Women will also experience access discrimination if a women are assertive, rather than traditional feminine.
