Effective Learning
Working Memory (short term memory) this type of
memory is limited, it is information you are currently
aware of at the moment
Long-term memory (procedural memory) factual
knowledge, procedures, experiences
Encoding taking in information and coding it into a
format the brain can store and come back to later (i.e.
learning)
Retrieval -Process of bringing information back stored in
long term memory (i.e. remembering)
Working Memory if not kept active by rehearsal,
information is lost quickly from working memory
Working memory can hold only so much
information (7+or- 2 can be held in working
memory)
