Combination of 3 non-market principles: reciprocity, redistribution, householding. What is peculiar about non-(cid:373)a(cid:396)ket e(cid:272)o(cid:374)o(cid:373)i(cid:272) s(cid:455)ste(cid:373)s is the (cid:862)a(cid:271)se(cid:374)(cid:272)e of the (cid:373)oti(cid:448)e of gain and especially, the absence of any separate and distinct institution based on e(cid:272)o(cid:374)o(cid:373)i(cid:272) (cid:373)oti(cid:448)es(cid:863) (cid:894)p. (cid:1008)(cid:1011)(cid:895) Pre-19th c: different societies had distinct economic systems based on principles of reciprocity, redistribution and householding.
