I told you what to make in my lunch . Like it was okay if a few women got jobs at stelco, but not too many, and not if it meant guys couldn"t get jobs. And it was okay if women had jobs that paid well, as long as they were single or had to support kids, but not if they just wanted decent pay like guys do that was going too far. Love and joy, but with demands of work: men: work at stelco for a family wage, made family life difficult. Term i objective to understand historic development of gender segregated labour why women assigned feminine jobs, low pay: women mostly work part time, history of women"s work, position, paid work, unpaid work at home. Aboriginal and colonial societies (consumption & production units); women"s contributions valued: frontier home, production and consumption, raised animal, produced food, produced clothes, reproductive work, highly valued at the time, couldn"t vote, granted status.
