More women are working in the labour market then ever before. Of women are in the workplace. Canada has one of the highest women labour rates. Women work over there life time compared to in the passed where women would work young and then stop working when they would be married and have kids. Since mid 20th century more and more women in labour market (not wanting to ask for money, not feeling in an equal partnership, being apart of adult world) Many studies of social economy shows more decision making power in the household. 4/10 marriages end in divorce so women want to work incase of divorces. 1960"s women felt confined to stay at home and felt that they were not making a financial contribution. In 1960"s more and more women became educated and wanted to take place in workforce. In present day we need double earning households.
