Document Summary

Cell theory- cells are in all living things, they are the basic units of organization and function, all come from preexisting cells. Shared features of all cells= packaged dna are chromosomes. Generalized animal cell be able to label it. Generalized plant cell be able to label it. Plants still have mitochondria, and could go through aerobic respiration they also have chloroplasts. Functioning of cells relates to its shape and size. Light - lm can be seen with naked eye advantages: can look at living organisms contrast how different between light/dark it is, can be enhanced with dye disadvantages: limited details, can get down to larger end bacteria/nucleus. Fluorescent microscopy- uses labeled antibodies or proteins to visualize specific molecules in cells , absorb uv light and emit visible light. Scanning (sem) specimen must be killed, electron beam bounces off surface cannot visualize with naked eye useful for fine surface detail, image appears 3d.
