Document Summary
The communication manager has the role of formal authority to manage the function of communication and make decisions on the communication policy. These top communicators hold themselves accountable for the success and failure of the organization and its communication program. Through this expertise and training, top communicators are organizational experts in solving problems in communication and pr problems. I take responsibility for success and failure of the organization"s communication and pr programs: due to my expertise and training, others think of me as the expert in solving problems in. I observe that others in the company hold me accountable for success and failure of communication or pr programs. An advantage of participating in making strategic decisions is that communicators can stop conflicts with the public instead of solving or dealing with it later. The senior adviser role deals with informal power, unlike the communication manager"s formal authority.
