Potty training, being in control of your bodily fluids. How parents deal with potty training is really important to development: initiative vs. guilt. Try new things, if initiative is stifled, they will feel guilt for trying to initiate: industry vs. inferiority. When kids begin formal school, if successful they see themselves as learners, critical time for learning: identity vs. identity confusion. Identity crisis of adolescence, this is the time when adolescences are figuring out who they are, succeeding with that is very important: intimacy vs. isolation. Time when individuals become intimate (sexually and emotionally) with someone, mutual trust with another person, if you are not able to do this you will feel very isolated: generativity vs. stagnation.
