Explain prinz"s argument in favor of moral relativism. Believes morality is culturally conditioned and ethical claims are based upon emotion not reason. Unique western prejudice: culture claims are a product of their time and place (true openness means looking at an another culture and asking what could i gain from them that could benefit my own life? ) Can"t just reduce other groups into a product of their time and place because then we are only looking at them through a contemporary western lens (matrix of relativism) What does it mean to be a us citizen: although the us is founded on an openness to foreigners it is not in name of diversity for diversity sake, but in the name of a shared humanity. Unwillingness to learn from other cultures (masked openness) A market society any society where things that are not traditionally commodities become so.
