Fields of argument (also known as argument fields or fields of argument) Social or professional context in which people argue to make decisions or build a body of knowledge. Field contains the arguer, the controversy, and the audience. Ex: could be within a legal field, a moral field. Have to shape your argument to be appropriate for the specific field. The individual that is working toward a change in belief or behavior. The individual aiming to discourage the change forwarded by the advocate. General features of argumentation that stay the same in all fields; things that do not vary across the board. Particular features of argumentation that differ based on the field. Starting points are the basis for argumentation; the place you believe your argument will be most successful to start from. Spheres are an important part of starting points.
