By the time children reach school, they have seen and experienced consumerism. ; today kid"s brand desires are much more upscale. Identity items express who consumer is. Community & belonging becomes part of one"s subculture & may cause some to loose certain status if cannot keep up with one"s brand. But consumption does more than this it can be an expression of status and inequality, as in this prestigious consumer symbol.
