Document Summary

Personality must be pervasive and inflexible and stable for a long duration for a personality disorder to be diagnosed. Don"t see them from being caused from a reaction to stress or abuse. Can be linked to early temperament in children. Possible that early events can interfere with a personality disorder but not used as causal factors. A lot of comorbidity between personality disorders- if you have one you usually have more. Some information is not available because the disorders are quiet . Not psychotic: my wife is cheating on me, antipsychotic drugs have bombs in them. Hard to break that maladaptive pattern of thinking. Events may enforce but don"t cause: schizoid personality disorder. May been seen as cold and distant. Neither enjoys or desires close relationships with people even a family. Kind or a combo of paranoid and schizoid. Much more difficult time engaging in social activity. Group b- attention seeking and emotional: histrionic personality disorder.
