And smells can recall old memories and emotions (recently called proustian effect) Was able to describe how emotions are connected in the brain. Experience of emotion is awareness of physiological response to emotion-arousing. Sight of oncoming car (perception of stimulus) This creates physiological changes heart begins to pound. This creates the feel of emotion in this case it is fear. Your brain is reading your physiological feelings. Problems: pounding heart, breathing fast is not associated with any specific emotion. Your heart beats fast when you are mad, in love, or scared so it isn"t entirely. If your heart is pounding your brain says oh i must be scared clear the emotions and physiological states.
