Innermost lining of the uterine cavity, target site for implantation. Contractile layer of smooth muscle in uterine wall, contracts during parturition, causes cramping. Part of uterine wall that is sloughed off during menses on a monthly basis. Flow from the uterine cavity out through the cervix. Flow from the uterine cavity towards the uterine tubes.
