Brief and hurried interaction - let others know how much time they have to make a point. Being sensitive to both verbal and nonverbal changes - the sounds and sights of communication. Understanding what others are saying because you are aware of grasp and can make sense of the message. Make judgements about what other person is saying. Process of mentally identifying with the characters and experiences of another person. Women - people listeners, women - relationships and networking ; men - competitive communication, women - more likely to be listeners. Avoid listening if the subject is complex or difficult and/or it takes too much time.
