Survey students when they first arrived for political and social attitudes found they were conservative. Newcomb argued that students conformed to culture; demonstrated this by giving another survey during their senior year about political and social attitudes and all went from conservative to liberal. Remained liberal after found after 20 years. Jones 2006 hikikomori and reclusive males. Japan has a homogenous culture expresses in which culture share common practices. There are deviants who are fairly extreme, begins quite young; middle school who deviate from group excommunicated from group , shunned and excluded; lead to bullying and attack. Hikikomori teenage males as they move through to their early 20. These males withdraw themselves completely from society; exclude themselves by staying in bedroom and only leaving to go to the bathroom. Japanese psychologists noticed that these males have adopted some form of deviation, excluded from school, bullied.
