The us patriot act was inspired by this idea and allowed broader surveillance of people who were suspected of terrorist-related activities. There has been much controversy around the patriot act because of the associated invasion of privacy of u. s. citizens. A third area, which is truly essential, involves international cooperation. Countries needs to work together to share intelligence and block transfers of money used to fund terrorist organizations. Intelligence gathering: photo reconnaissance, listening devices, spies and informants. Understanding the factors that are conducive to terrorism is important in any pragmatic effort to eliminate or reduce terrorist threats. Shown here are 7 key factors that contribute to the growth of terrorism in a region, and many of these are interrelated. Poverty is widely perceived as the root of terrorism.
