Document Summary

Broadcast, cable, digital, and satellite media: television and radio. Even tv programming is decreasing in usage today. Advertisers are planning on reducing their tv advertising and instead looking into more emerging web-based advertisements. Cable television has prospered at networks" expense because it is much more targeted and a lot cheaper. Travel, cooking, science, history, weight loss: it"s all available to a well-defined audience that"s self-selected to be interested in ads that relate to these categories. Network television still isn"t deadthere are still large-scale events such as the superbowl or the olympics which are big advertisement times. The commercial television system includes little direct sponsorship of individual programs by a single sponsor. Participation: advertising time bought during a show. Spot announcement: advertising time in between programs (less expensive) Syndication includes the source of the "reruns" often seen on network television, and of much material seen on cable networks .
