Feminist post-structuralists 1st wave of gender archaeologists (1980s present: challenged traditional interpretations of sex roles, basically, sex does not determine gender roles in life, sex vs. Gender: sex = the biological differences between males and females. That is, sex is a predictor of gender roles, but only weakly: most females are gendered women, most males are gendered men, but there are exceptions and differences.
