Hosting a mega event has many positive and negative impacts on the city. 2 carry out such an event, the city has to come up with a good and efficient plan. However, at the end a committee is the one who is selecting the host. The international olympic committee has many criterias, but often corruption is a big part of the selection process: malfas phd, e. theodoraki phd and b. houlihan phd (2004). The article provides the knowledge how to interpret the word mega-event including the movement of olympism. It also discover what impacts mega events have on their host cities and region, and how the bids for selecting a host are influenced. Committee has strict terms that the host city has to fulfill in order to carry out the games. Many people are involved in the whole process; that includes everything before, during and after the bid plus the work while the game are hosted (malfas et. al, 2004).
