How does it help our survival: parent-child. When we hear a baby cry, we become distressed as an instinct and provide higher quality care: child-parent. Cute baby syndrome- certain physical features adults find cute cause the caregiver to take care of the infant. Big eyes, tiny noses, soft skin: haven of safety. Infants require are of someone else can"t survive on their own: components of attachment, social- occurs through relationships, emotional- pleasure/comfort from the figure we are attached to a source of security, comfort, and love, cognitive. Internal working model- schema based representation of relationships.
