Document Summary
One third to one half of our population is made up of introverts. It"s as if we have been taught to be extroverts because that is the type of person that our society desires. We live in a world where communication crucial. When someone walks into a typical grade or middle school classroom they can expect to see clusters of desks. Children sit in groups of four or five or six even all facing each other. Children are encouraged to work together and to form new relationships with others from an extremely young age. It is almost as if children are encouraged to be extroverts and introverts are looked down upon. There is no opportunity for children to go off and work on their own. As the years go on, we find ourselves in similar situations. Places like schools and offices are designed for extroverts. According to teachers, extroverts are the ideal students.
