Insecure-anxious/ambivalent baby cries when mother leaves but isn"t exactly happy when mom returns; may want to hug mother but then wriggle out of her arms. Long-term effects of attachment: can affect future relationships (social interaction), cognitive competence, and emotions, secure, bigger vocabulary at a younger age (higher level of comfort and absence of distractions, better, longer-lasting friendships, more positive emotions. Insecure-anxious/ambivalent: trust issues, more conflicts in relationships, avoidant, few or no relationships, more prone to developing psychological difficulties.
