Philippines faces problems with muslim population in mindanao and communists. Burma faces conflicts with several non-burmese groups. 2014, military coup overthrew democratic thai government. Spratly and paracel islands center of dispute involving potential oil reserves. Philippines was most developed country in 1950s but declined through 1980s. Philippine economy has grown through business outsourcing. Singapore government has invested in housing, education and social services.
