Sociology: the study of the relationship between individuals and society. Sociological imagination (3 elements: a willingness to view the social world from the perspective of others. Trying to understand people and where they come from: moving away of thinking of the individual as an identity but instead on the social economic and historical. Person-blame approach: blames the person and is based on an individual approach, blaming on others, see the bigger picture. Ex: seeing someone poor and blaming him for his situation. System blame approach: looks at the system and structure to see where it may be failing these individuals.
