Document Summary
Found that when people are under the influence, they"re easier sexually aroused. And more likely to engage in riskier behavior. So also likely to do something sexual they"ll later report to regret. Asked people how they thought alcohol affected them. 1) told they"re drinking alcohol, and are given alcohol. 2) told they"re drinking alcohol, and are given alcohol-free drinks. 3) told they"re not drinking alcohol, and are given alcohol. 4) told they"re not drinking alcohol, and are given alcohol-free drinks. Groups one and two acted nearly the same. Acted according to how they expected to act under the influence of alcohol. Groups three and four acted nearly the same. Were not very social, bored, a bit awkward, sticking to their own social groups. Conclusion: perhaps it is the preconceptions and expectations, (aka placebo effect) rather than the alcohol itself that creates those effects of alcohol consumption. Up to a certain level of blood alcohol level.
