Indigenous people displaced and give way to commercial operations. Liberalism becomes the norm (politically and economically) People who advocate for this become more authoritarian. Becomes an ideology that justified anti-democratic policies in the name of progress, private property, commercial expansion. By late 1870s-80s foreign capital is more welcomed, easily incorporated. People could invest in latin american corporations (mining)
