1. Inadequate fluid intake
2. Intake of types of carbohydrate inconsistent with needs (specify)
3. Inadequate fiber intake
4. Undesirable food choices
5. Food and nutrition related knowledge deficit
PES: Inadequate fiber intake RT food/knowledge deficient AEB food recall does not include any
vegetables, calculated fiber intake is 13 g/d.
MNT Intervention: Constipation cont.
• Educate about consisten vitamin K intake while on coumadin, sources of vitamin K
• Provide a nutrition prescription for calories, protein.. Use mifflin and activity factor for
TEE
• Eat adequate fiber, gradually increasing daily total fiber to 25 g/day
o Increase 5 g/ week
o Educate about sources of whole grains, F, V
• Increase fluid intake to a minimum of 64 oz/ day
• Participate in PA daily
