A meta-analysis was conducted to test the effects of yoga intervention on subjects diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus by analyzing 12- randomized control trials. Trials were selected with outcomes focused on fasting blood glucose, hba1c, total cholesterol, triglycerides, postprandial blood glucose, hdl-cholesterol, and ldl-cholesterol levels. The trials were analyzed using weighted mean differences and 95% cis. Ldl-cholesterol (p < 0. 0001), and -12. 57 mg/dl for triglycerides (p = 0. 16). Rcts evaluated show significant benefits of yoga practice for patients with t2dm. The limitations of the study are that the long term effects have not yet been analyzed and further studies should be conducted to analyze this. This meta-analysis looked into many studies that claim yoga to be effective in reducing the effects of type 2 diabetes and summarized the results in a way that shows that yoga be beneficial.
