Prototype-mental image or best example of a category; provides quick and easy way to sort things into categories. Algorithm-methodical, logical rule or procedure that guarantees solving a paricular problem; contrasts with heurisic (math problems, etc. ) Heurisic-a simple thinking strategy that oten allows us to make judgments and solve problems eiciently; usually speedier than algorithms. Insight-a sudden and oten novel realizaion of the soluion to a problem it contrasts with strategy-based soluions (intuiion) Creaivity-the ability to produce novel and valuable ideas (robert sternberg ideniied 5 components of creaivity): experise, imaginaive thinking skills, a venturesome personality, intrinsic moivaion, creaive environment. Conirmaion bias-a tendency to search for informaion that supports our preconcepions and to ignore or distort contradictory evidence.
