It was difficult for the soldiers to work in the public relations campaign when they had. After watching flags of our fathers , it is evident that war no matter where, when, or how it occurs has a dramatizing and lasting effect on the soldiers who either willingly or unwillingly fight in it. A major lesson to be learned is that although those who fight in the united. States" war are undoubtedly the bravest citizens of our country, when they return home they are not the same people they were before. The war scenes depicted in the film are both unsettling and surreal and actively capture the gruesomeness of the battle of iwo jima. These soldiers will always be affected by the startling battles they experienced overseas, and it is important to remember that these soldiers should be rightfully accommodated, both mentally and physically, upon their return back to the united states.
