Infant feeding: breastfeeding- recommended exclusively for 6 months, then with complementary foods. Advantages: passive immunity, easily digested bc high in whey protein: formula feeding: need iron fortified formula. Use sippy cup if drinking something other than breast milk. No honey for at least first year bc botulism! Toddler nutritional concepts: physiologic anorexia: metabolism from infancy slows down so child goes a period of time without eating- this is normal.
