UGS 303 Lecture 5: Discussion Board 4: John Brown
Document Summary
Slavery crippled the south: the south whose political, economical and social aspects were sustained through the slavery institution. The aspects presented here were the basic unalienable rights guaranteed to the free, wealthy, white men in the former time period. Thus, the slaves were not subjected to all these luxuries. However, in the center of misery (slavery) lied the revolt and revolutions that changed the face and situation of the former time period. Such revolt and revolution led to the american abolition of slavery and marked the society with new motto and updated traditions: the country with the unalienable rights for everyone. However, the state of such unalienable rights didn"t come easy as many abolitionists had to fight with, at that time, was thought to be impossible. one of those fighters was john brown. John brown was the strong abolitionist and often demonstrated in the history of the united states in the conflicting terms and images.
