Advantages: money, experts, time, understanding and recall: in group work, we understand things more which is super useful, diversity of opinion, creativity: allows new innovative idea that would not come out from one person thinking. Disadvantages: tough to organize time together which is challenging, a lot of organizing problems, as size increases, so as coordination problem increases, social. Individual effort decreases as number of group members increase. Inherent to social (small) groups: differences in perspectives, opinions, and etc, general misbehaving, someone takes a lot of talking, someone who is aggressive. Definition: contacts of 3 or 4 people working interdependently over period of the time to accomplish particular task. Size: social small group: at least 3 people, under 15 people, what is the ideal number, 5 to 7 members, but depends on task.
