Describe how sex chromosomes are important for sex. Recessive alleles on the male"s x have no counterpart on the y. Requires sry gene on y chromosome for male. Male produces x and y containing gametes. Affects a single protein in the cascade of proteins involved in the formation of blood clots. Form of hemophilia is caused by an x-linked recessive allele. Allele for hemophilia was introduced into a number of european female families.
