Hearing loss and & eyesight loss loss of ability to act independently driving, etc. In this time of life, often there are financial struggles. Feelings often associated with this loss of control over their life: Decreased = geriatric anorexia decrease in nutrients needed. Cooking hazards forget and leave the oven or stove on. Driving decreased sight and reaction times. Self-medication may forget to take pills or take multiple times without realizing this. Insomnia no sleep makes it hard to store memories: memory loss, decreased reaction time. Encourage them but know that some things they are not able to do as they once could. Encourage them to consult a medical professional before making drastic changes in their life.
