Psychological assessment systematic gathering & evaluation of info pertaining to individual w/ suspected abnormal behaviour. Good diagnosis depends on development of accurate assessment tools. Series of scores within context of history, referral info, behavioural observations, life of individual comprehensive understanding of individual. 1) accurate ability to measure some aspect of person being assess. 2) knowledge of how people in general fare on such a measure, for the purposes. Patient"s description of issues from own perspectives. Patient history behaviour & experiences at various ages & settings. Account of patient"s emotional, cognitive, physiological states. Test-retest reliability degree to which test yields same results when it is given more than once to the same person. Correlating score on same test at 2 diff time points. Higher the relationship btw 2 scores the greater the reliability. Improve on test the second time practice w/ procedures/familiarity w/ questions. Alternate form reliability test designers prepare 2 forms of same test.
