(troposphere to stratosphere) Density of the molecules are higher on the ground then up, more molecules hit you when your closer to the ground = more heat, 50% of heat from the sun heats up/reaches the land. In the mesophere there is not enough oxygen to produce the same reaction in the strat, thus the temp drops more. In the thermospehere then gamma and xrays from the sun heats up the atmosphere once again. Troposphere, where the clouds go around to collect heat and go back up etc etc. Earth"s crust is in the middle and is always in the sun"s vicinity= is the warmest area. On the equator, 0 the earth travels 1670km/h. 60 , 830km/h and on the polars 90 , 0km/h.
