Document Summary

Sporophyte dominant, produces reproductive structures/organs that contain the haploid spores. Pollination: transfer of pollen to female reproductive parts, no water required. Sporophyte structure produces female gametophyte with egg. Pollen is the male gametophyte (multicellular) in angiosperms. Trees are dom forms, reproductive organs that have haploid spore. Female cone = two years to grow into this. Male cone always at lower level bc if male cone on top= will drop pollen onto female and fert it. Bottom:waiting for wind to carry pollen from diverse parent= cross fert. Megaspore= female gametophyte, male= microspore which produce male gam. Two sperm cells (one will fertilize egg cell while the other will degenerate)-angiosperms there is a use for both sperms, gymnosperms only one is used. Cotyledon, ram (root apical meristem)= plants grow out, sam (stem apical meristem= plants grow tall) Germination allows for apical meristem to become active, the am produces all the stuff (leaves, stem etc)
