I am from a town called sarnia ontario. Sarnia is located within lambton county, which is an area that is situated on traditional anishinaabeg territory that was part of a transfer of land under treaty 29. I acknowledge that my hometown is built on land that was traditionally occupied by the chippewa, odawa, and potawatomi peoples, referred to collectively as the. We are all part of this same land that sustains all life, and it is the sacred responsibility of all people to ensure that the environment remains protected. Though i definitively do not have any direct familial ties to. European settler colonialism, i acknowledge that i have benefitted from the privileges of settler colonialism. I have had a very westernized education, going through grade school, high school, and pursuing post-secondary education in ontario. For this reason, i would acknowledge that i am biased.
