Please explain
As most microbes reproduce asexually, "speciesâ are defined by differences in their DNA sequences. When the genome of soil microbe A is analyzed, long stretches of genes from multiple species of other soil microbial species are discovered. This indicates that:
A) microbe A engulfed other soil microbes and acquired their genes.
B) there is transfer of genes from other soil microbe species.
C) due to the universal DNA code common genes will be found in different species.
D) microbes are closest to the universal ancestor therefore there are common genes.
