(2p) Group II Refer to the Flow Chart for Group II to answer following questions. Treatment of an unknown solution with H2S and pH 0.5 produced a black-brown precipitate. The precipitate was treated with KOH. After centrifugation, the supernatant KOH solution was acidified with 6M HCl and treated with H2S. No precipitate was found. The dark precipitate was treated with 6 M HCl and centrifuged. The supernatant HCl solution was treated with 6M NH3 and H2S. No precipitate formed. Treatment of the dark residue with 6 M HNO3 produced a yellow precipitate. The dark residue had dissolved. After centrifugation, the supernatant was blue. Treatment of the blue solution with 6M NH3 followed by centrifugation produced a deep blue solution and a white precipitate.
