Document Summary

Lecture 3: golgi apparatus, a golgi complex is composed of flat sacs known as cisternae. The sacs are stacked in a bent, semicircular shape: each stacked grouping has a membrane that separates its insides from the cell"s cytoplasm. People with these disorders are missing one or more of the lysosomal hydrolytic enzymes: peroxisomes, also called microbodies -are organelles found in virtually all eukaryotic cells. Mainly involved in regulating the movements of ions around the cell, Isolating materials that might be harmful to the cell: bacteria like organelles, release and store energy, types. Spherical structure bounded by double membrane, site of chromosomes. Control center of cell control the activities of the cell by regulating gene expression. Surrounds the nucleus with a double membrane with multiple pores. The pores regulate the passage of macromolecules like proteins and rna, but permit free passage of water, ions, atp, and other small molecules.
