What is good is easy to get, and. What is terrible is easy to endure : introduction: epicurus tie in happiness with lack of fear. Epicurus wants people to be content with less than they want: the gods: most people are in a state of confusion about the gods. Even if there are gods, they are not important to us. The gods are such that they are not going to be vengeful, or frivolous. The gods aren"t going to be any relevance to how we live our life they aren"t going to be a negative relevance because we have no reason to fear. Even if they have some relevance (positive) they would just be positive role models. Dogmatic: death: there is no reason to fear death because death is nothing to us. (get used to believing that- therapeutic element-talk yourself into it) epicurus views death as something that is inevitable.
