Every few years, people have a different relationship with new media 4: decentralizing, globalizing kinda religious enthusiasm of what it can do. Old and traditional media however is still (new tech transforms things) Trying to turn something into something bigger than it is, not quite in the right form, until twitter, tumblr came along Old media: one to many, at most, get back some letters. Telegraph: one to one, changing people"s lives individually. Wasn"t mass media at all, it"s mass media potential was recognized. But somehow became one to many with newspapers using telegraphs (journalists use during crimean war to give same day or next day news and made newspapers more pertinent). Telephone: same idea but went right to many to many. But today, many people talk much less on phones Computers: at first, no connectivity, but just for math and word processing, cd roms gave you info like an encyclopaedia.
