Unsolved: corollary discharges: when actions are made (signals sent to muscles), there is a motor efference copy sent to sensory systems which provides them w info about what may come next, can determine latency btwn when you tickle robot & robot tickles you, if less than 100ms, don"t notice, if 100s later, notice a little tickle, if 200ms and above, feel tickle. In midbrain, looking at dorsal view: two bumps (left & right) below thalamus, above the inferior colliculus (ic, orienting head, body to visual stimuli, if damaged, can"t do that anymore, decreased activated when you perform the action instead of someone else performing it. Where things are is a way of figuring out how we can act in our envt: close correspondence btwn understanding where things are & being able to control our actions, we live & operate along the dimension of time within 3 dimensions of space, at least for all intents & purposes (holographic universe theory)
