They have 2 passages one produces high the other produces low notes. Higher vocal center: present in the brain of any bird that produces a song. Signals are sent to the ra nucleus found in the valves. You can damage the lman in birds that already have a crystalized song, damaging it in during their developmental stage can cause the birds to not learn their song.
