Individual will experience reduction in sound level: causes: ear wax, perforated ear drum, tumors, can be surgically or medically fixed, example ear plugs/ putting hands over ears. Sensorineural hearing loss: damage to the inner ear (cochlea) and nerve pathways. Individuals will experience reduction in sound levels and speech discrimination: causes: diseases, birth injury, drugs, genetic syndromes, noise exposure, viruses, head trauma, aging, and tumors, cannot be surgically or medically fixed. Mixed hearing loss: both conductive and sensorineural hearing loss, damage in both outer and inner ear.
