Lecture 8 part 2 early woodland 3,000 bp 2,200 bp. Woodland derives from ethnography, ancestors of eastern woodland natives. When these traits appear varies geographically: some of these traits appeared in the archaic. Michigan around 2,600 bp, ontario & new york: traits appeared around. Not all ceramics were preserved well even though they were used at the time. Grit/sand pottery instead of fiber-tempered pottery starts to appear. Some resemble the soapstone vessels they were trying to replaced, some made very differently.
